Who We Are?

About Us

After spending 2023 zipping across the country, 17 states in total, and seeing more than 500 species of birds in the lower 48 states, I wanted to do something different, I wanted to enjoy birding and share this hobby with others. Bird Chaser became a loose idea after birding in the Everglades and helping a group of biology students spot and record birds – this was the spark for the “free bird guide” idea. While doing my big year I completed the University of Wyoming outdoor guide program in preparation for setting up Bird Chasers and I also became a Leave No Trace Instructor. I also volunteer my time as a raptor counter and lead guided hikes near the Appalachian trail.

I’m not alone in this endeavor, I have others working with me from time to time. Together we’re a collection of competitive and casual bird watchers and rare bird chasers. Some of us have done big years, some try to take a photo of every bird they see, and some don’t even keep lists anymore. What ties us all together is that we love being outdoors and we love birds

Extraordinary Experiences

We put together no cost trips for everyone, from seasoned chasers to those who have just been bitten by the birding bug. These trips are all no cost, they all about having fun and seeing cool birds.

We don’t cold bird any of our trips, these are all areas we’ve birded before, sometimes for years. Trips are selected and planned for targeted species and for the best participant experience.

What we are not

We can be a lot of things but we certainly aren’t
